So, apply over whole bag then hairdryer or do it bit by bit?

Yep it works itself in the cotton very easily. Do ensure you brush the bag thoroughly first, light wipe all over, leave to dry and apply lots of stuff all over. I did not bother with hairdryer, I left a bag in airing cupboard hanging under the boiler for couple of days.

100% this. Getting as much grime and dirt off beforehand is vital.

I can attest that re proofing works well tho. After my water bottle emptied itself into the bag, and the bag retained most of that liquid!
