I follow quite a few threads and quite a few haven't been notifying (news thread for example)

Not in spam. I have had some from the commute thread today

I found this, how did you get your emails working again? I am only getting a tiny amount compared to normal
Pretty much anything from the miscellaneous page isn't coming through.

My symptoms were zero emails coming through, due to failed catch-all forwarding via my domain. @Velocio sorted it on the lufguss end, and it took a few days to start working again after that for some reason.

@Velocio -Any ideas what may have happened to my account? I am still not receiving most of my notification, I get a few come through (today from the bikepacking thread and classified and on @ mention). It seems none of my watched threads in the miscellaneous and meaningless section work, I have marked all as read, unfollowed and followed again but nothing comes through. I have checked spam folder and there is nothing from LFGSS. Has anyone else ever had this happen?

If you don't know what is going on, don't worry about it. It is probably doing me a favour as my time on the site has probably gone down by several factors of 10!!!

Honestly I've no idea at all.

I've been through the logs that I have, and I can see every instance of this software attempting to send an email to you via the Sendgrid API... and every one of those is successful.

I've then been through the Sendgrid logs showing all of the emails received there and them being delivered to Gmail.com where your account is... and every one of those is successful.

For example the last email sent to you was at 5:08 UTC this morning, i.e. 6:08 BST. It was a notification of an update to a thread, and it shows Gmail receiving it for you.

Yesterday some 29 email notifications were processed for you, and every single one of them was successfully delivered to Gmail.

I also see that you are watching (following) 545 things, and that of those 484 are set to send email to you, and in the database I track when I last notified about something and none of those timestamps are older than the timestamps of the thing you're watching for where you've read up to... meaning the notifications are sent.

I even see that yesterday's 29 notifications related to 4 threads https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/151796/ https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/282005/ https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/187325/ https://www.lfgss.com/conversations/330642/ and also a notificatio about a new item in https://www.lfgss.com/microcosms/1563/ .

The 29 updates for 4 threads means that yup... someone posts something new, you get notified once (even if multiple people now reply), you visit, it resets the notification on the visit, someone else replies after you've visited, it sends a notification again.

I see no evidence at all that there is anything different or incorrect with the email notifications to your email, and the code has not changed, the database has not changed, the email API has not changed, the use of Sendgrid has not changed.

If you want the full email experience again, I would suggest two things:

1. Check your spam folder, and ensure that anything from LFGSS is not marked as spam.
   
2. Visit https://www.lfgss.com and on the bottom right hand side click "Mark Everything Read" so you will get delivery for everything and rebuild the state behind the notifications.
   

That many emails sounds horrific, just check the following page every 5 minutes.

There is no LFGSS at all in the gmail spam and I marked all as read sometime last week.

Please do not spend anymore time on this, it is probably a good thing because I spend far less time on the site!! Perhaps it will start working again some point in the future?!

I've just updated my iPad to OS17 and now whenever I go to Conversations (my usual LFGSS home page), or page 2 etc of Conversations, or any section eg. General, Bikes & Bits, my onscreen keyboard pops up. It also does it when I open any thread on the last page. Basically, almost everywhere. This is only Safari, not Firefox; I know, Safari is shit. Can I fix this or is it an apple bug?

Why not both? Yes, it's an apple bug, identified on here a year and a week ago, but you can fix it by throwing all your apple devices in the bin 😀

I have sussed this. The checkmark in the root 'miscellaneous and meaningless' page was unchecked. It must overwrite the inherited ticks(??). I am now getting the notifications again. I am sure I tried this a few weeks ago but all good now.

So an easy fix AND cheap, excellent.

@Velocio would you consider using the attached image as the icon for the covid microcosm? It's just a PNG version of the current SVG version.

It's the only icon my app can't render natively so I'd need to pull in a large 3rd party library just to render it, and since all the other icons are 48x48 PNG images...

It can't. Are you thinking about the one that non-logged in users see at the top of the slide-in menu? That's just the favicon, which is a PNG.

The login flow depends on a web view, so svgs might render in there.

I'm thinking about the huge blue LFGSS site logo which is an SVG.

Ah, the only time that appears in the app is during the login process where the whole lfgss website is essentially iframed into the app.

I doubt it, your app has only you as a user today doesn't it? in which case how could it be the cause?
