Managed to install cushcore on the E-mtb today
75 minutes, two broken tyre levers and job done. Fucking hope it was worth it.

Bit of exercise before you ride the moped.

Thanks I will ask the question. It’s a comp win, so hopefully not profit driven (although someone is paying) the the EXT coils won’t fit so it looks like Ohlins ttx22 m.2 is the best option, with the leverage curve TBC. The EXT do look banging and I would def of gone that route if possible, but yellow is one of the best colours so win win (if it works)

All said, I'd love a Sur-Ron for popping to the shops etc. Whether it would be there afterwards is another question.

Big hit for Gee Atherton at rampage. Fractured his skull and some vertebrae. Those boys push hard

I've belatedly decided I'd like to watch Rampage. Anyone got a link to where I can watch it without any spoilers?

Story's gone so maybe sold already but have messaged to check.
There was one on ebay a few months ago that went for like £200 or something!
I started with trying to machine some of the parts I'd need to make a concentric pivot frame but fuck man, machining to bearing fit tolerances on a lathe that weighs less than a fart and has the structural rigidity of an overcooked noodle ain't the boy!

on a lather
Was it very foamy when you tried?
-
• #27366
I was foaming when I fucked up parts!
Think Ill pursue a different way to build it that needs less parts making.

Should my new DT Swiss wheels have come with a SRAM lock ring, or should that have come with the cassette?

Cassette lockrings come with the cassette

please dm if anyone is interested in a wales trip or in showing me around: i’m planning on going up on the 3rd nov to do afan and bike park wales (although open to a steer on this).
before then i was hoping to drill some additional bottle cage bosses on my old process and find a blocky rear tyre second hand for the rear: schwable betty? spec butcher? -

Barry Sidings is well worth visiting and much closer to BPW than Afan (Masts had been flattened last time I went, so there's that too)
Big Betty is great, bucket loads of braking traction but very draggy on the climbs

The 550lb spring is much better suited to my current tonnage, much nicer balance and the bike is clearly riding higher in it’s travel as the pedal strike that dogged me in Cairns has gone.
Yesterday marked the first time I have ridden the enduro bike here, and it really reminds me why I love this bike - for whatever reason it’s just a much more helpful companion than the Jibb, which may simply be that it inspires more confidence but whatever it is sharp technical climbs that I’d bail out of halfway on the 135mm travel Jibb I stay with on the 160mm Madonna, and it’ll get up and over some amazing features if you throw it at them with enough commitment.
A did a couple of runs through Kent Ridge and I’m much happier wth it now - for a theoretical downhill course it features a lot of climbing, but I guess that’s Singapore for you.

Not currently at more than a hand wavey level, work is getting much busier and I think time off will have to be next year now.

Hi everyone, I asked about some suspension earlier in the thread, thanks for the advice, got a full Ohlins set up coming in the next day or so.
Invade anyone is interested I won the set up
on an https://astonmtb.com/ competition, great odds for some great prizes. Having won I can vouch for the comps and the great service in helping choose the right stuff for the bike! Cheers and good luck
I'd forgot about the flat leverage curve on that frame. It's maybe just cynical thinking but the J-tech chap might be wanting to sell the most profitable option. I guess the HBO could be the solution though. The HBO is factory set at some last percentage of the travel, I can't mind what it is but lets say its the last 10%. You can't adjust that, but it can be changed as a tuning option so maybe thats what they plan to do.
Certainly worth asking them to clarify exactly what they intend to do to get round the flat curve.
