Reproofing does work but so does keeping your kit clean so it can breath . Stuff like grangers and the very pc friendly nikwax do great stuff to extend the life of clothing . Not only pertex and gore.
Their are a few jackets now on the market rab montane and mountain equipment using the new laminates.
