Best pedals and straps?

Need some new pedals to replace my old ones, what are your guys opinions on the best pedals and straps? Cheers

Wellgo plastic bmx pedals and Holdfast straps have always worked for me.

You know if anywhere in the UK stocks Holdfast? Cheers mate :)

Mega dredge here - but surprised best pedal/strap combo for fixed hasn't been discussed more - if it has - point me there!

Recently bought some cheap ebay straps and lashed them to some random flat pedals (fake crankbrother stamp) for a trip where I didn't want to take my spds. Gotta say, I'm liking it.

However - what are peoples recommendation for strap and pedal combo? Intrigued by the performance difference between restrap horizontal and diagonal straps for instance. Also - are less prominent pins better to make getting your foot in easier?

How can i get a dream set-up without trying loads of different combos or am I over thinking it and just buy what I like the look of?

It's been a few years since I've used either but I had both versions of the Restrap for a while. My experience was that the diagonal were easier to get in and out of but the horizontal were better once you got going. The diagonal always made me feel like my foot wasn't in quite the right spot. Could have been down to set up though!

It's annoying how clips and straps went so out of style that sweet road ones with maximised cornering clearance stopped being a thing.

My favourite are the cheaper Shimano ones from the 80s with a full ally body and easily adjustable bearings; I like to go the hack on them to minimise stack height. And you don't need the proper Shimano clips; normal ones can be modified to fit.
