What led to the ‘79 revolution? I keep saying this, things don’t happen in vacuums.
“ there are no blanket ban on books and toys of the Winnie the Pooh character, and are still able to be purchased widely in the country. Additionally two Pooh-themed rides still operate in Shanghai Disneyland.”
And in regard to your post about poverty.
difficult for me to imagine what "personal liberty" is enjoyed by an unemployed person, who goes about hungry, and cannot find employment.
Real liberty can exist only where exploitation has been abolished, where there is no oppression of some by others, where there is no unemployment and poverty, where a man is not haunted by the fear of being tomorrow deprived of work, of home and of bread. Only in such a society is real, and not paper, personal and every other liberty possible.
The UK and US backed the Iranian revolution?? The Pahlavi dynasty sure, but they’re not the ones we are discussing.
And since when does poverty levels prove a country is a good place to live. When was the last time a UK or US citizen was vanished for criticism of the government. When was the last time a leader of those countries banned pictures of a cartoon bear as some people said he looked like it.
