Size ? What height are you ?
Also the cinelli is made out of steel -
• #3
I'm 5'11 so around large/58cm I think? I'm assuming steel bikes are much heavier? I'm just looking for something this style thats reasonably durable

You just want the sweet fixie aesthetic, that so many us of has have worked so hard for for so many years, without knowing anything of the bikes?
-
• #5
At 5'11'', if you want to emulate the vibe on your pics, rather go for size 54, a frame with a short headtube.
steel is heavier but not crazily so and the overall feel would depend on what parts you use for the whole bike.

Yep basically! 😋
Do I need to know anything of the bikes to enjoy having one? -
• #7
I see I see, would you say it takes a fair amount of trial and error? Thanks for the help btw! 😊
-
• #8
You might want to try using brakes initially too.
-
• #9
no, welcome to the club, hope you enjoy :), you can't go too wrong with any frame tbh
-
• #10
Yes I was thinking this too, although I'm assuming this adds quite heavily to the cost? I've used a fixed gear before but just a commuter
-
• #11
Thank you! I see, what would you say are the most important parts in terms of quality? 😊

you could strart with something like this, adjust the position to a more pleasing one and upgrade parts when you feel like it.

wow, what do you type in to find all of thesse super cheap DOLAN?
-
• #14
A front brake and lever will cost you about £30!
-
• #15
^ this. & can be had for much less from the classifieds on here.
Cheaper than dentistry / fines from the plod / etc.
-
• #16
i get the sarcasm, but my point is while not looking like an oversized tubed cinello, the position could be similar and the performance not far off. the cranks are better than miche level in both cases.

Thank you guys for the help!! This bike looks great I will keep an eye on it 😸
-
• #18
i told you on the discord man (vxarea) don't buy shitty stuff when Dolan exists haha
-
• #19
I was assuming that didn't mean everything else what shitty

Apart from not being for track, having clearances the size of the Thames estuary, rhyming with "douche" and me having committed the sin of a dynamo lighting set up, these are great frames.

Beat me to it ;)

Or for a starter fixed gear, that Charge Plug in the classifieds (yes, I know it's steel - and might not be quite the style you are after) is a good deal at £100

Then upgrade various bits within your budget (and with another £150 to spend, it is a very healthy budget), cover it in stickers and just ride the f*ck out of it.
(but keep the brake)
