• Old but quite pleasant Bertin frame and forks. It would make a good basis for a beater bike I think.

    51 centre to top seat tube, 53 centre to centre top tube, not sure of the tubing, but it's not especially light
    Shimano headset and bottom bracket (probably later additions, not by me), also a Shimano 600 front brake
    mudguards and rack
    Milremo dropouts
    Also managed to find a Milremo seatpost that will fit (25.8)

  • Very nice head tube lugs! Would make a great bike.

  • At a guess it is all french sizing headset and bottom bracket.

  • I just checked and it looks like it is French sizing. The bottom bracket and headset are smooth with plenty of life, but I understand if the French thing is not for everyone. (For more on the differences see the Sheldon Brown site.) On the other hand, the difficult bits are in place, and it's free! By the way, the almost obliterated letters on the downtube say 'Chardonnet' but I haven't managed to find out much about that.
