Cheers, hopefully cheaper than the originals at £115, do you have a link please ? I just don't feel spending that kind of money for a set of bars on a I'll-give-it-a-go project is a good idea.

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/175934304987 saw these on the bay the other day - carbon version. I have the surly steel version and they work great.

I'd rather have some real drop bars, the Surly doesn't look all that comfy in the hoods position, and that's the one you normally ride more with drops.

The geometry of the bars is quite different, I tend to ride the Surly style bars more in the 'drops' which aren't really drops of course or with my hands laid across the join and brake lever.

Anyone got a tyre reccomendation that's easy to get onto a hope rim please? I got some WTB Raddler tyres and they are near impossible to get on and off.

What did you make of the RH Fleecer Ridge tyres?

I’ve got a week off and with the weather looking so good for a few days I’m thinking about heading to Wales in search of gravel. I’m in Stroud, so south/east wales ideally. Any route recommendations appreciated.

Hey, I'm Stroud too 👋, how long are you wanting to go for how, much sfab can you tolerate?
The frame insert is a one screw affair with means it's not terribly secure anyway but coupled with the through axle it struggles to engage threads reliably and ends up cross threading or being impossible to line up etc and I've seen at least 3 mullered ones where both axle and dropout are screwed. It also doesn't really do its job of breaking on a crash very well and instead the mech tends to die- granted it's not unique in that. You can buy aftermarket CNC hangers that fit better but the last one I tried had too much ano on the threads so it had to be tapped straight away to be useable.
