Tried this today, but it seems the offer may have been pulled, unless it’s account specific?

I agree. I'd blow the whole budget on the ceiling and getting a shower to work within the set up

Flash tape. Flash tape primer.
Pull the failed flashing off. Apply primer liberally. Apply tape.
The big black mark above the failed flashing is a bit of warning sign though. What is going on there? Edit, oh, leaking gutter. Get that fixed before winter or that will blow the pointing on the brickwork.
Long term that needs fixing properly with some lead flashing.

We cleared the higher gutter today, amongst the moss and dirt at the source of the problem was a little black pouch with a worry stone inside. Some fucked must have decided they had no more worries and chucked it on our roof.

More likely a magpie or crow had it up there.

I’m glad the magpie or crow resolved their issues. Birds got enough to deal with already.

Another question, we have 2 bits of drainpipe that are joined and leaking a bit, what's the best way to seal it? Some kind of tape or just silicone?
-
• #42334
Gutter sealant is good stuff.
Is it a vertical drainpipe? You might just need to push them together a little tighter. But gutter sealant will likely solve it too.
-
• #42335
It's horizontal gutter pipe, goes across our house and next door, I think their side is sagging a bit and pulling it down slightly. Gutter sealant seems like it'll do the job.

Bluetooth receiver has arrived. Connected fine but it’s intermittent. Connected, unconnected ….
Any ideas?

We’re moving soon and new place has an outhouse, while I’m waiting for surveys etc can anyone tell me anything about the power they’ve run to it?
It’s got a fuse box but is this just a garage level thing or will it support a man cave?
Is 240v x 63A about 14.5kw and does that mean I can probably run 7kw off stuff of it before it explodes?

I've a couple of rawlpugs pulled out of plasterboard.
I'm sure I read on here that it's possible to buy something that you soak in water and set the rawlplug into that and wait for it to harden
Have tried search but get things like soakaway....

Wetnfix is one of the brand names (haven't tried them myself but the idea seems good)

Thanks, I'll have a look at them :)

It’ll be reet good. That has at least one 32A circuit on it, probably a second one too (image cut short).
32A is a normal ring main in my house - ie a whole bunch of plugs.
So yes i think you can run 7kw on each circuit

Kiddo somehow shattered our hallway thermostat this morning. It was an old Siemens one. Functional but due an upgrade. DIYable? Was looking at nest/ilk. Notifiable? Presuming need to be cautious as will be pokey amounts of power providing the boiler?

Possibly this? Although not sure it would work for Plasterboard

Any YouTube recommendations for a complete novice?
-
• #42346
I could be wrong but it's possibly only a call for heat that the thermostat receives/sends so unlikely to be a lot of amps. Not notifiable as far as I know. Obvs switch off power at the Cu and check there's no voltage with a decent voltage tester before messing with the wires.

• #42347
That ^ when I replaced the roomstat in our last place for a wireless one the wiring turned out to be a phone line, so the draw must be minimal to say the least.
-
• #42348
That's fairly dodgy as if it is a mains control loop it will probably have a 3A fuse which is almost certainly plenty to set phone wire on fire. Quite tempted to try.

It was like that for 8 year before I changed it and for gawd knows how long before we moved in.

it may depend on the job at hand, but here’s a few that come up often and seem decent:
