I work for a tiny bike repair operation and I want to order a few sealed bearings to deal with a mix of bikes - road bikes from 2005-present, modern gravel bikes and all types of MTB.
Below are the "most common sizes" of sealed bearing according to our supplier. Could anyone identify the most common 12-15 sizes from below, or otherwise convince me that we need to buy all 23 sizes?
Bottom bracket bearing 6805 25x37x7
Bottom bracket bearing 6805 D24 24x37x7
Bottom bracket bearing 6806 30x42x7

I’m going to pair a Shimano R685 lever with a Hope RX4 caliper. I think I need Hope fittings for the caliper and Hope hose but what size insert for the Shimano end. I have many BH 59 hoses so I’m guessing not this one…

Ignore me sorry

The barb for whatever hose you use, shimano olives are all the same.

I think what I mean is what Barb to fit a Hope hose to a Shimano lever….what’s the id of a Hope hose?
-
• #5310
Use a hope barb and olive, although you'll be better off with Shimano hose and fittings.

So can I get a BH59 hose to fit a Hope Barb they are a different shape and seem to use a copper washer
-
• #5312
I’ve used the hope fittings on shimano hoses with success (hope banjo and fittings on zee callipers with both shimano and jagwire hoses)

No, use shimano fittings on Shimano hose (BH59 or 90 barb for BH59 or 90 hose), use hope fittings on a hope hose. But the shifters cost a lot more and are more prone to breaking than the calipers where the hose enters, so I'd use Shimano hose rather than hope.

But most of it's just bike plumbing, if you can smush it together and it seals, it'll probably work.

It’s what I’m using now (sorry for poor photo) and seals / works fine.

Yeah, what's the worst that could happen at a pressure of 300 bar?😀

Eugh hopefully nothing directed at soft tissue 😅

So Hope RX4 caliper, Shimano R685, what hose? Can I use Hope fittings on a BH59 hose?
What’s the outside diameter of this bit?

I said probably.
-
• #5321
That tells me to use a Hope hose but not whether to use a BH59 or a BH90 Barb in it at the Shimano lever end
-
• #5322
Do you have both? Try the 59 first.
-
• #5323
I’m going to buy the Hope connector and measure it

If you can remind me on Monday I'm pretty sure I can do it for you.

So I managed to do this somehow (photo). Guess I’ll be needing some new cranks (£10 Chinese pedals are unharmed). I’ve never really understood bottom brackets - these cranks are shimano non-series R563/R565, so will any shimano 5xxx cranks do the job?
Many thanks for any advice,
Dan

Thanks for the suggestion though!
Edit: Have given up and taken it in to the LBS, interested to see what they thought the issue was.
