I think he's given a lot of uncritical goodwill for being a bit avuncular and offbeat in some interviews. But he's definitely one of the worst when it comes to referee abuse on the pitch and off, which seems to be glossed over because he sometimes comes across like a kinda uncool/cool uncle.

He’s only ever nice in a disingenuous way when things are going well for him / Liverpool and he’s a total cunt when they’re not.
He’s clearly an awful person.
