• need some new boots on the Explorer (passed its MOT but a verbal for the front)

Currently has Road Pilot 3(?) which are now obsolete, but Road 6 are the current model.
Firstly, only the front was cautioned, is it worth ponying up for a new rear at the same time (for matchy matchy)?

Secondly, other tyres to look at?
On road, all weather, low mileage annually.

Priced up some Road6 and its about £300 for the pair delivered, plus whatever the garage want to charge for fitting (although I will see what the garage charge for supplying and fitting)

  • I have Road 6 on the GS and they're awesome. Tried some Conti TA 3s on last time around and glad to be back on the Michelins.

  • Where are you based? Bike treads Swindon are good.

They were almost £100 cheaper supplied and fitted than other garages due to the fact they have a very good relationship with tyre suppliers or so I'm told.

So sometimes it's better to get the garage to supply and fit.

  • +1 for Road Pilot's, wet or dry - pay for a pair ? Nah.
