  • Barchetta is LHD mainly...MK3 MR2 for the win

  • Hmm, turned out to be a diesel XC60.

I don’t feel that this is equivalent to an E Class, am I mad?

  • Obviously in company car land an Ovlov is not a Mercedes. Chief designer v Commercial director.
Is the XC60 as dreary as it looks?

  • Was at a wedding 2 weekends ago and I was glued to the Wedding car (stretched W124)

  • No Volvo has ever been or will ever be even in the same arena as a Mercedes E Class.

  • I'm looking at a2 again...

  • They are very nice, but overall I found the car quite scary (with the roof up) that I could go in to silly speeds without getting noticing.

  • Tru fax....

  • Thinking of getting an id3, are they any good or not?

  • If it was primarily to drive passengers around I'd look at the objective factors... was there enough leg room? Enough luggage space etc.

But no, if I'd ordered an e class and paid for that I wouldn't consider a XC60 equivalent.

  • Minicab?

  • Yes, you are right also. Better match of group B cars of the same time as the rs200. Or is the set ment to be age related so 6r4, then rs200 but the Delta in that looks like a group A.

    Am I fixating?

  • Not to sound rude, but are you going to be a minicab/uber etc driver? Volvo looks like a posh mini cab.

  • It's the Group A Delta in that set, there is a 037 from another set though but no sign of an S4 from HW yet.

I have the other HW group 4/B/A cars on my desk. I'll probably get that set to get the "Rothmans" 6R4 and the Delta to go with the Cossie

  • Such is the backward nature of the world that it appears an XC60 is more expensive to rent than an E Class (with Enterprise).

  • This guy knows how to Hotwheel!

  • Not to sound rude, but are you going to be a minicab/uber etc driver? Volvo looks like a posh mini cab. When has anyone ever had a volvo minicab?

This totally baffles me. If ever there was a car that screams posh minicab, it's an e class.

It is literally the default posh minicab.

In terms of the overall point, yes an XC60 is the same as an e class from a rental group perspective. It's like getting upset about getting a cactus when you wanted a panda. They're in the same price bracket and similar size. You may have a preference, but thats not how it works.

What would be really annoying is if you specifically rented a car with 5 doors so you could get a baby in and out easily, only to find that you've been assigned a 3 door in your class and then have no option but to pay for an upgrade to the next class, all late at night with a crying baby.

  • OK. Maybe not posh. But definitely minicab

  • Spam: My Honda Civic Tourer is for sale. VGC, super efficient, low co2/tax, ULEZ etc

  • Looks good, but my limit was £5k so I can make a bit from my Abarth 595 sale. Hopefully I have found one though, was just about to give up on the iQ dream, but viewed one on Saturday which seemed OK, depends on whether the dealer can sort a few stonechips. Bit higher mileage than I would like but it seems like this budget does not easily get a good iQ.

  • Do you play with them ;)

  • Just chatting - Europe and some bits of Africa the default minicab is an old Merc. But thought the change to electric has changed this. Maybe the Merc isn't as reliable and a workhorse that goes on for ever.

Recently most minicabs I have had in London have been Prius or Kias.

I'd group XC60 (if, for a second, we allow Volvo into the Audi/BMW/Mercedes group at all) as being a 3 series/C class/A4 equivalent, being the 4x4 version of the S60.

If you'd said (and they'd given me) an XC90 then fair enough.

  • Holiday rental, asked for a VW T-Cross, got a Peugeot 2008. Really annoying instrument layout/controls/everything. Drives okay but, yeah, just fucking annoying.

I also paid for a zero excess collision damage waiver through the rental website I booked on, Hertz wouldn't recognise it. They made me pay a €700 deposit before they'd hand over the keys. Utter. Cunts. At least it's black. 🦇☠️🖤
