I mean, as someone who has worked on different sites sites for over a decade, I can count the tools I’ve lost on one hand. 1x set Knipex needle nose pliers in a flat renovation in Amsterdam, a Bessey knife on a site in Leeds, and a Makita drill was nicked off a different site in Leeds, and if we’re being really picky, someone nicked my tracer pencil off the same site.
I’ve never once needed to make foam inlays to not lose shit, lol. Don’t get me wrong, they look very nice to use. But it’s a very expensive, time consuming and space inefficient way to carry tools!
I think the same thing can be achieved with any tool bag that has slots/compartments. Just have a system for where everything goes and it’s very easy to keep track of where your stuff is.
I think it’s like all the forum members who have bike packing bags but never use them. It’s the fixie skidder prepper movement.
