Does this look too big for a dress watch?

I’d say by classical standard probably but who really cares? I often wear a IWC Portugueiser as a ‘dress’ watch and that’s a similar size

Thanks for the reassurance. I don't think anyone is going to pull me up on it. I only really notice the dial size when I wear it with a proper fitted shirt it seems fine with a t-shirt or jumper. The Portugueiser is beautiful a friend of mine has a green one and it looks enormous for 41mm and way bigger than this

What @Tenderloin said.
But also, looking at a watch on the wrist can be quite misleading size wise. Check it out in the mirror or something and you might be surprised how much smaller it looks.Like this one for example.

Yeah that's a big difference

No. But it depends on how, you feel. Does it slip under your cuff? Do you feel special wearing it?
Personally. I think it's great.

This

It's nice and slim so slips easily under the cuff. It was only the second time I've worn it on the new strap so the padding is still quite stiff. I think I just need to wear it more so it feels more at home on my wrist. It was more than fine in the end and I thought it looked really smart. I don't know why I was worried as everyone else was wearing subs & seamaster anyway

Who was asking about datejust homages?
Thought this one wasn't that bad, 40mm I thing.
Two in catawiki right now.

Been offered a swap for my Tudor BB58 for a Grand Seiko GMT Superquartz model SBGN027G
Opinions please of the GS, not something that has ever been on my radar, but would it be easier to shift if not for me?!

Thanks, it was me.. Never heard of catawiki, will have a look..

Do it

Did anyone pre-order the Alkin model 3? They looked kind of fun but never quite sure what you are going to get at that kind of no-mans land price point.
-
• #74371
Is it a good deal to do this then?
No idea when it comes to GS watches
-
• #74372
is the SBGN027 new or used? And is the goal to raise funds asap or not? GS is still more niche than Tudor (and high end quartz, prob more so again) so I'd have thought if cash release was the goal, the Tudor is more "liquid". You could ask Subdial or Watchfinder what they'd offer for the GS and for the Tudor for a quick comparison?
A quick look on Chrono24 suggests you can get a new GS for around £2.4-2.5k without much fuss so I suspect any second hand one is going to be worth less than your 58....

Dunno but bb58 is so boring
GS looks kinda fun / different but not totally out there
Agree above it might not make total financial sense but then let’s face it the only sensible financial choice re watches was to buy 50 subs 20 years ago
