  • Oh probably! If nothing else worth an email. I’ve always been impressed when I’ve had questions and the once I’ve needed to use the service centre but seems backed up by others experiences online. One of the reasons I’m happier to pay the premium as I know they’ll last or if not at least can send it to Suffolk to get fixed!

  • Stock clearance? What does their site say about sitting to the UK post Brexit? My school level German can't work it out.

  • Had a reasonably thorough search and the UK doesn’t appear to be a postage option.

  • I'm not surprised but danke!

  • Scam is what's happening.

  • Unless if it's too good to be true then it isn't legit doesn't apply to shops called rabbattleuchten.de.
They claim to be from Alabama in the about, but their contact address is one that doesn't exist in Germany.

  • Recently found this dynamo:
    https://www.velogical-engineering.com/dynamo/product-information/?lang=en
Apart from ,get a hub dynamo‘ maybe someone knows more about it or even has experience?

  • trying to think of a way to neatly mount my supernova e3 to the bars. can anyone confirm the busch & muller brackets are compatible with supernova, as in the mounting point diameter is the same?

planning to mate these three together:

  • No confirmation, but all that stuff normally is the same.
Not sure the rubber attachment will be strong enough with the lamp on a lever though.

  • What rear lights work well with really shallow seat stays?
Saddlebag will be covering up the seat post. It's a tandem and the stays are really shallow, less than 45 degrees from horizontal. My normal seat stay cateye omnis are pointing up in the air on it.

  • I’ve got a set of moon comets (?) and the knockoff versions from PX that’s a few years old but have very adaptable mouthing. Just a rubber band wrap affair but the tilt is better than many I’ve had.

Otherwise I’ve had success padding out the stay/light with a small bit of wine cork or old inner tube at the top to help angle it more upright.

  • Thanks. I've got some eBay rechargeables that look a bit like the Moon ones. I'll try them. I don't trust them to stay on though so they're more of a back-up than a main light. I might try the bodge option with those classic materials you mention! (edit I did the TCR in 2016 with my main back light mounted on a bit of cork so am not above using these techniques!)

Or the other idea I have thought of is a QR mount. I should be able to get an Omni on there, until my stoker kicks it off, or I lean the bike up somewhere...

  • If you have mudguard/rack mounts then attach something to that instead of the QR? There’s a good mod in the hacks/bodges thread using a steerer offcut, star nut and topcap

  • Yes - part of the challenge is that it isn't my tandem so I'm not entirely sure what there is on it, but there are definitely some other mounting points - it's got mudguards on it for sure.

I'll get it on Thursday to give it a once over before a night ride on Friday, but won't have loads of time for really sophisticated fabrication...

  • yes, they also have this, which would suit the narrow space on my bars better. however, none of them seem to be long enough to allow mounting the light correct side up and below the bars without an extension.

at first i was laughing at the 6/10 road.cc review reducing 4 points for just for the difficulty to mount, but i'm slowly starting to agree with the reviewer. this light is just an absolute b*tch to mount lol.

i went through the exact same hell with my previous bike and am starting to see the sinewave beacon as more and more viable option every time i look into this.

  • Use a basket/rack with mounts and have a spare chainring to cut up?

  • real question: is it possible to flip the light and attach directly to the rack? no chainring needed. light upsidedown problematic? (i m guessing the light beam and all that would not be optimal)

  • If you leave an Exposure light on in your pocket, the lens melts.

  • I’ve got a pair of knockoff deda alanera bars, I’m not sure the light I have works on a go pro mount (raveman thing with a t shaped beam) so I’m after a way of putting it on the bars (as normal).
I’ve got in touch with raveman, but in the mean time anyone got a suggestion?

  • My Exposure Sirius Mk9 died last week, a few weeks out of warranty. Have sent it back through the retailer and we'll see if they replace/repair even though I'm past the 2 year warranty period.

Not holding my breath though and I stumbled on this Bookman light last night and placed a pre-order. USB-C, removable battery and the dial thingy are all pretty neat features, hopefully it lives up to expectation!

  • If you want to send it back I'll send you a Moon meteor lite that's 1300 lumens and does all those things for £30, or I've got a pro version I ordered a while ago I need rid of that's 2000 lumens I can post for £50. My 1800 lumen version is great and can do gravgrav through the woods in pitch black.
