Thanks, I suspected something like this. In my case, it's just by chance that two of my old / second hand bought power tools came in these cases, I'm happy they stack but it's not a necessity for me, I'm only an occasional DIYer.
Rather than buying the plastic cases I've actually made my own one for my plane and belt sander, with left over ply from roof work.
