  • It's a specialized fork and they did this around 2010 or so. They made the crown race seat higher and the bearing seat further up inside the headtube so that the lower bearing was closer to the downtube on the head tube. Marketing stunt probably. It apparently made for a stiffer interface, less brake judder etc. But it meant that they had a bunch of weird forks with a 10mm spacer below the crown race.

  • Ah ok interesting thanks for the info! It is a bit of a pain and if I see another fork I will probably switch it out. It looks funny
