Here are some pics of the track frame i built. Im extremely happy with it. The photos are not taken by me as you can tell they look far better than usual. Taken by one of the regular photographers at HHV @andymoss461 on insta

I've also made decent progress on the longtail. Very excited to see it come together.

I got over my fear of Instagram and have been posting more there @hillframeworks.
In about two months I'm going to be in a position to put more time into framebuilding again. So if anyone is looking for a frame or other thing, drop me a message. I wanna build some forum bikes :)

I've got some time off work in mid October so will be finishing off the longtail and building my girlfriend a road bike. Can't wait.

I also would quite like to build a small batch of frames. What kind of frame I'm not too sure just yet, but I will think about it and see. Probably not more than five. At the moment I'm leaning towards a cargo frame, like my cycletruck.

Could you not find a fork with a straight steerer?

That's not the bearing seat, it's some sort of proprietary feature that must've fit the frame it was originally intended for. I got it on eBay and didn't notice in the pics.
There's a separate bearing seat above it. I think I'll print/paint a part to go in there and hide it, but haven't got round to it yet.

Actually thinking about it, it's presumably a secondary bearing seat so you could use this fork on a frame with a larger internal headset standard as well as a smaller standard.

It's a specialized fork and they did this around 2010 or so. They made the crown race seat higher and the bearing seat further up inside the headtube so that the lower bearing was closer to the downtube on the head tube. Marketing stunt probably. It apparently made for a stiffer interface, less brake judder etc. But it meant that they had a bunch of weird forks with a 10mm spacer below the crown race.

Ah ok interesting thanks for the info! It is a bit of a pain and if I see another fork I will probably switch it out. It looks funny
Hah yeah im fairly standard looking i think and ride in the hoods most of the time. I am quite flexible and maybe i have long arms or something idk this is what i look like on it.
