I love the parent bug and the dragonfly pics!
A speckled bush cricket came into the house yesterday, so I took it outside where the light was better.

Had an excellent day at an organic farm today, where I saw probably the biggest bumblebee I've ever seen, and a European Hornet. Neither stayed still enough for pics, but this Hoverfly was a bit more accommodating. Not sure quite what species it is?

Nice photo. It's a female (eyes are separated at the top of the head - males would be touching) hoverfly. The abdomen pattern makes it a species in the genus Eupeodes and because it has a small upside down dark 'Y-shaped' mark between it's eyes and it's antennae it makes it almost certainly a female Eupeodes luniger aka a Black-tailed Aphid Eater https://www.inaturalist.org/taxa/210336-Eupeodes-luniger.

Nice photo of a great caterpillar. I love the irregular black reticulation on it's sides and just below the lower yellow stripe.

My allotment has hundreds of these spiders on it, they seem to live on the ground. Anyone know what they are.

not sure which exact species but looks to be a Lycosid, so a wolf or fox spider

Oo thanks. There's so many of them. You take a step and they all scurry off.

Caught a nice European Hornet Queen in the kitchen at work today. Checked it wasn’t the invasive Asian one and let it go. Impressively big.
