  • This is a relatively good result – a (clarification: suspected) neighbour cut down my parents' TPO tree and my dad got the fine. Other trees on the land have been poisoned and the police are stumped (hah) as to who did it, because it certainly wouldn't be the former-council bigwig in the overlooking property next door.

    They expected your parents to permanently chain themselves to the tree?

    AFAIK a pto means any work on the tree needs permission, not that the tree must be protected at all times.
