Fixed/tracklocross wheelset 135mm/120mm conversion

Posted on
  • Hey there, building up a so ez which has 135mm rear spacing, looking for one of the following:

    • single speed disc wheel (to run with bolted cog)
    • 135mm fixed wheel(set)
    • 120mm fixed which has conversion kit/is convertable (i.e. some halo hubs)

    Thank you!

  • Wheelsets like halo and Mack keep the 42mm chainline and that won’t work with most 135mm chainstays. You need to be looking as something like a surly or Paul hub that run a 52mm chainline. I’ve also thought about getting a hope fat 135mm front hub then running superboost to get the correct chainline but then you’re dealing with quite a big Q factor.

Sorry for the ramble, working out what I need to build up.

  • Not at all! Makes sense with the chainline, I haven't actually checked what combination (if any) of cranks would work.

Aside from the proper way (surly hub) am leaning towards converting/building a 135mm disc single speed wheel and mounting cog on there.

  • I had a look on their website. They only list things 49mm and over for chainline so that rules out track cranks.

  • You can do a bolt on cog as well!
    The coolest kind of wheel.
    Front hub with axle kit!

  • Pming you
