Hi all. I'm about to look ridiculous, because I'm French and need French restaurant recommendation in London.
So, there was a restaurant in Clapham with an unfortunate name, "Gastro" (it may associate with gastro pub or whatever in English, but in french the immediate link you'd make is gastroenteritis). It was trying a bit too hard to be like an old fashion popular French restaurant, a bit too "Amélie", a bit too cliche... But somehow it worked, to me, to French friends who I had dinner there with, and even to my parents, who are not easily impressed by that kind of vibe. The place was a little bit f***ed-up too, which added some charm. Most importantly, they served Andouillette. The owner (I think) was French, most staff definitely were.
Anyway, Gastro closed a few years back, sadly, but I now need to find a similar place in London/central London. It can't be posh or pretentious, can be a bit cliche, like Gastro was, loud and busy and a bit f***ed-up would be good.
Thanks in advance for any recommendation.
