tubing for rack building experiments

Hey y'all, I would like to practice my silver solder skillz and torture some tubing into something rack-like. My bender can do up to 8mm. Can somebody recommend a tubing ID for this? Also a supplier perhaps? Can i use mild steel or should it be CrMo?

I've only ever used mild steel for racks (apart from a few times when I've gone to stainless I suppose) and I tend to use 10mm od x 1mm wall thickness.

If you live near a Leyland decorators merchants pop in and have a look if they still have mild steel tubing.
The company used to carry quite a range, but have stopped so individual shops are selling off their stock.

The rack I made for myself was fabricated from Leyland 12 and 10mm OD mild tube.
