I am thanks to Norbury Brook separating me from Thornton Heath Rec. The rec being very much not locked at night. Now built up with retaining wall and fence. The fence being privacy giving more than security as the gap on the neighbours side is still there. The main thing is I've not heard tell of anyone making the journey from rec to back garden before. Nor has my neighbour who has lived here for 25+ years.

Ah OK, you have fencing on the park side too, whilst in this park you can get into the water and paddle if you wanted.

Just how far would someone be willing to go for a 10 speed Di2 rim brake bike?

If it’s a tributary of the catford/ linear river walk thing - that river is so dirty if anyone goes in it they’ll die.

Having been in the brook to clear overhanging trees and shit before the retaining wall was built, as @Chalfie said the potential biohazard also acts as a further deterrent.
