What was the outcome of this? I've always been curious about the practicalities (and cost) of basic ti' repairs like these.

Enigma quoted to cut the offending section off and do a kind of sleeving method for the seat clamp area, seems the original builders seat clamp design was a little strange having too many slits inside the area which forced a failure. I think only two or one is really required.
Quote was £370 for all the work, which considering enigmas level of work and the time and intricacies of such a repair, isn't too bad.ROSS
