• I need some advice! I bought a pair of cycling shoes from a company I have used before…their comms aren’t good but I originally asked for 43.5 but managed to get it changed to 44.5…arrived safely…but not wide enough…but their website or invoice doesn’t include a phone number…but they included a return address on their website…so yesterday I sent the shoes back using RM Special Delivery…checked this morning and RM couldn’t deliver the shoes as the company(Always Riding) no longer trade from the address given in their website) and RM are returning the shoes to me. I have sent them a further email explaining the situation to Always Riding but no reply…the shoes are new and cost £115…and I paid for them using my credit card….Am I covered by S75 of the Consumer Credit Act?

  • Damn have always riding gone wrong I’ve ordered from them in the past

Oddly Google says the London address is a riding school and there’s no reviews

I found this from an old order

Always Riding Ltd is a company registered in England & Wales
(Company No. 6391537, VAT No. 933513535)
Unit 3 Sunnyside Farm, Whitelea Lane, Derbyshire, DE4 5FL, UK

    If that’s any use

But yeah if paid on a CC just do a chargeback

  • So have I but read their recent reviews…doesn’t make good reading…according to their website the returns address is in Mare Street in Hackney in London.

I checked Always Riding in Companies House but came up with a dissolved company in Aldgate again in London but will check the address you have supplied but will also start a S75 claim with my bank…..Thanks for your help and input.

  • Velorution 'might' own Always Riding...I will give them a call tomorrow as Velorution Hackney has the same address as Always Riding in Mare Street in Hackney.

  • Want someone to go by and ask? As velorution have gone in to liquidation

  • This gets better and better! If you could, I would be very grateful. I was going to call tomorrow .... otherwise time to call my bank.

  • Looks like Always Riding was aquired by Velorution in 2019 https://homeofdirectcommerce.com/news/velorution-acquires-always-riding/

Velorution look like they possibly closed their doors in last week or so.

  • Thank you…could explain why I couldn’t access my Always Riding account…I am hoping I can make a S75 claim even though I have the shoes…as I bought them on the premise that if they didn’t fit I could return them for a refund…had I known they were close to shutting their doors for the last time…I wouldn’t have bought them.

  • I mean, you posted them back with proof of postage. CC company doesn’t need to know they got returned to you.

  • What shoes are they? 😉

  • I paid for them using PayPal Credit Not my credit card..😢….the transaction shows the seller was Bike Republic and PayPal have given me a phone number to call before they might intervene.

  • Yes but that proof of postage has a tracking number that clearly states that shoes are being returned to me…Not sure that would be a good idea!

  • Vittoria 1976 with 3 holes for Look type pedals and include a pair of slotted cleats for old skool pedals with toe clips and straps….size 44.5….the shoes are made from Lorica…same stuff Sidi use…artificial leather….lovely classic looking shoes..and they are new etc.

  • I paid for them using PayPal Credit Not my credit card..

Still probably fairly safe then no? As much as paypal has it's faults it's usually no bad at getting you your money back, just takes a wee while sometimes.

  • I hope so…PayPal require to ‘attempt’ to contact the seller…Always Riding>>>Bike Republic>>> Velorution…I called and no answer but given an email address to contact which will also probably draw a blank but I have to try first.

  • I have 'received' a holding message from Velorution saying they are very busy but will get back to me but I ain't holding my breath that they will get back to me....I did that at 13.00 today....so unless I hear from Velorution tomorrow...I will contact PayPal and raise an issue.

  • To avoid dealing with PayPal if that is possible..I would like the shoes to go to a good home…so I have offered these shoes in the classified section (£120 including postage) but if no one is interested then I will contact PayPal.
