Just setting re-setting up an old Cyclops JetFluid Pro, and unfortunately my floor isn't very level.
Is there a way to adjust the height of the leg that doesn't have the obvious dial adjustment (which I have wound all the way in so it's not adding to the slope)?
Otherwise seems like a pretty poor design that it can only compensate for a slope in one direction

Can't you swap the feet over?
-
• #4579
Edit: Phew, not so dumb - no you cannot 😬 the dial is built into the leg
Double edit: but actually, might be able to swap the legs themselves ...nope -

Ah - I only have a foot remaining, and couldn't remember that well.
The default setting is surely halfway, though, so you can adjust tilt going either way?

Are you using the trainer on the side of a mountain?
Move the trainer? Add some yoga mat padding underneath?

I've just found that my Fluid Pro has lost one of the leg locking pins. No idea how that happened and it's probably not an issue unless you're a moron but has anyone replaced one? Otherwise my busted arse warmup turbo is going on ebay for parts.

Are you using the trainer on the side of a mountain?
Are you not?

Not currently. Should I? Will I get sick gainz?

It's on a mat already, and had lifted the offending leg with some wood under the foot, just wondered if there was a better way.
@TW you'd think so, can't imagine that my floor is that wonky but it seems to be, even with the extension wound all the way in.
Edit: spirit level on the mat shows that it's pretty level, so must be something funky with the trainer. Will explore further

So now I have a smart trainer - Is it time to get rid of my beloved yellow turbo? Or do I hold on to it in case anyone else in my family displays a desire to sweat like a twat and hate themselves?
-
• #4587
Take it with you on family holidays, obviously

Sensible!

Did you buy a Kickr? I'm in the same boat as you previously (bog standard turbo, powermeter...etc) and was wondering if the change is worth it? Parent to two young kids so when I do get a chance to go on the bike, it's in the bastard garage - curious if the Kickr makes it more tolerable.

It doesn't make it more tolerable, that's something you have to trick yourself into thinking.
It does make the following differences:
it's quieter, it folds up and takes the same space as my yellow turbo (surprising that)
it's more stable
for "racing" it's easier to coast and not lose too many spaces, with the turbo it was "on/off". with the kickr you can frewheel for a second or two longer
i've not used erg mode yet but am quite keen to do thatit works for me because getting out is not always guaranteed (life, dadlife has meant i can't remember when I last actually rode my bike properly). I can put my bike on it, and if I really wanted to I could set either my daughter or my wife up on it too (because it is height adjustable).

The way I see it is:
£500 outlay + monthly cost of zwift / TReasy to set up and use within 10 mins of "i could do something now" or "i am doing planned activity"
i use it probably 3 times a week, maybe more. If I do that most weeks of the year the cost per use is low. -

yes yes. and the cost of powering it and me.

Did you get a fan yet?

• #4594
Erm.

• #4595
Want to borrow mine and see how you get on with it?
-
• #4596
Someone start a gofundme for a fan, especially if Chalfie puts any family members on there
-
• #4597
Cheers for this! Will likely take the plunge due to the same reasons. Ta

Anyone want to part their way with a trainer that is disc compatible?
I have the Elite turbo Muin to shift - great and simple, sadly no conversion kit available

is it a coincidence that my wifi on my laptop stopped working when i booted it up with my new ebay ant+ antenna? the antenna seems to have solved the connection issue between the turbo and laptop- which new battery didn’t
I have one from AliExpress, works well for few years now
