And one of these to stop number flappage
£5 more gets you a pocket added to your suit 🙂

I'd not focus on the under-saddle. It's the smallest area for any kind of aero improvement. Carry your tools for peace of mind.
By far and away the most important is body position - your kit is good enough for getting even better times imho. The best investment right now is getting a TT bike fit from someone who knows what they are doing.

They're useful if you've got more than one skinsuit.

(and I did TT Worlds this year with my number stuck to a pocket of my speed suit, it was fine)

And yet many top riders chose to put two bottles behind their arses in the national 10🙂

Fine and as fast as possible aren't the same. 100% aero bike fit for max aero bang for buck though
-
• #20358
Oh there's a tiny improvement for sure, but moreover a great opportunity to look like a triathlete

On a limited budget, fast as possible....isn't possible.

True but watt saving per £ is a necessary approach for those on a budget small or reasonable. My budget was 5-6k including bike, kit and testing so had to prioritise where that went to get as optimised as possible within that budget as easy as it could have been to spunk half my budget on wheels.

As a side note I did do some wind tunnel testing with the guy in that article and he tried selling me an £1800 front wheel that's at best 3-4w faster than what I'm currently running 😂 -

I don't think your position looks that bad, flat back is a bit old hat for positions now. This is probably the most aero guy in the UK who does 19 minute 10s off less power than you.
Try and get your shoulders more forward and in, if possible. Helmet looks like a reasonable fit if you get get the tail snug to your back.

That power number is strava's made up guesstimate, right? (just going by the photos there's no obvious power meter)
-
• #20363
It looks like a Quarq on there🧐
EDIT: I'm talking about Mark Jones not Nefs numbers -
• #20364
Yeah it’s just guessing. I imagine the calculation is based off a much less efficient CDA, and I’m quite heavy (87kg), so my actual power is likely below the Strava estimate.

Not seen a chain guard like that before.

Weird looking rear mudguard too

Nope. Australia is America Lite with cars.
I have seen a chainguard like that.
I've not seen a chainguard like ^^ before.

Nef might want to look where he's going tho ;)

Well, my mate (ex national champ guy) is going to help me to try and remove the stuck seat post, and then we’re going to try and do a bit of a bike fit/work on my position.

• #20371
Congratulations on your second ride !

Personally I’d store you are with upgrades, unless you want to spend a little more and get a tt frame, something like an old p2 should be all you ever need (I did a 51min 25 on them and I’m very average) and you might get lucky and pick one up for £3-500…
-
• #20373
I’m not really arsed for upgrades, and I’ve no space for a dedicated TT bike. A set of race wheels and sorting the cockpit out maybe. But I’ve got 6 months until I can do another 25 - so I’m not in a hurry to spend any cash!

I'm going to finally retire my P2 for next season in lieu of something a bit more fun to ride. It is pretty decent in a straight line if DC's and PB's are the priority (not for me)..

Yeah, it's almost certainly a repost but I'm only just watching it and it'll never not deserve another posting...
Why mess about with the speed wrap? Nopinz can put a number pocket in your skinsuit for about the same price.
