  • We can't help but replicate. They try to stop us.

  • Where’s good to get a battery changed in Vauxhall / central London. It’s my old Tag 1000 so happy to go better than timpsons (or is there no point in that for just a battery?).

  • I actually got a battery and watch service kit off Amazon.

Peanuts and figured it would pay for itself.

I don't need it to be sealed as I don't use it to wash up.

Speaking of which my 2000 series needs a new one again! Better get onto it...

(Although I'm strangely addicted to the 5 second sweep)

  • Congrats! Welcome to the only watch you'll ever need - good for all occasions (including fading eyesight as you get older)

  • I've got the same kit to replace the battery in my Formula 1, it's probably not waterproof any more because the rubber around the bumpers has almost fully disintegrated so I'm not too worried about it. That said I do plan on getting a new o-ring and lube to help the case be sealed.

  • I was toying with your suggestion but this is the only watch I’d need it for and I don’t really wear it much. I’d also have to buy some sort of magnifying kit so in the end I just went to the bloke in Vauxhall. The watch is so old it’s never going to be fully waterproof without major work and I don’t use it for any aquatic action.
    All done;

  • Congrats!
I've never seen a side-by-side with a sub, it looks chunky! Is the lug width on this one 21mm?

  • 22mm (if I understood you correctly) vs 20mm for the sub

  • It’s definitely a larger watch and has more presence than the Sub.

  • Looks great. Wear in good health.

  • Ah yeah, it must be the newer sub that’s 21mm or I’m getting it all confused.

    Looks solid, enjoy!

  • Thanks chaps.

Changing the time on the Explorer to show Singapore/London and its noticeable that the crown on the Submariner is much larger and easier to use.

  • I was hoping someone would take the bait😂

Just cuz you bought your snide Santos from Gumtree doesn’t mean everyone should :P

  • Yeah the new "41mm" Sub has 21mm lugs.

  • Congrats fella, I'm really glad you found a GMT that you like.

  • Whoever it was on this thread who pointed out that it’s the same movement as the GMT Master is the one who deserves the thanks- without that observation I’d not have bought it.

  • The Explorer is looking really good!!!

  • NATO really came through today

  • Now officially down to zero watches

  • ^ related, anyone got a recommendation of good quality spring bars?

  • Anyone fancy this? City Bravur in 35mm. Manual winding. Ticks along nicely. Drilled 18mm lugs. Comes with a grey Nato. £180 posted (from Sweden). Pics

  • Looks great. Glad you finally took the leap.

  • Waiting on one of these, took the punt after all

  • I always rated the ones from watch gecko or Geckota or whatever they’re called. Solid and not crazy expensive. The best ones I’ve had are Rolex (and Tudor) and Omega, but they tend to be quite pricey.

@NurseHolliday what’s the lug width? I might have some spare spring bars
