We put together this wheelset from spare parts to convert my husbands 29er into a fun Klunker, we converted it and then he never rode it, not once!
Rims are Pacenti TL28 29er, 32h, tubeless compatible, disc brake only. Hubs are Velosteel coaster rear, 32h axle respaced to 135mm OLD, torque reaction arm was modified, we silver soldered a stainless water bottle boss to it so there is a 5mm thread in the arm (no messing with spanners to secure it in place, just a 4mm Allen key for the stainless cap head screw) front hub is a Halo wide boy in black anodise, no disc mounts currently running modified QR axle end caps for 15mm through axle. You could fit a QR converter to this or source replacement QR end caps from Halo. Spokes are Sapim CX Ray in black with black brass nipples.
The rims and the spokes have some marks on them, though the rims have no dents or flat spots on them. Everything is true and round and runs fine. The only bad bit is the sprocket retaining clip went missing so I have a piece of 2mm spoke securing the 17t Sturmey Archer sprocket in place, its not quite right and the sprocket rattles a little.
Fitted with tubeless tape, could be fun to convert a 29er into a Klunker like we did or could be a nice wheelset to convert a tracklocross build to coaster brake, obviously with no front brake provisions, It can't legally be used on the highway.
I'm asking for £100 for them, Based in Norwich, collection is fine or shipping can be arranged.
