Ooo, what bikes are these? Can't make out the headbadges

• #27154
Moxie on the left, Genesis on the right?
-
• #27155
Looks to be a Pipedream Moxie and a Stif Squatch if my eagle eye serves me right? Dreamy combo!

Stif Squatch
Someone was building one weren't they?
I thought the headbadge looked like the Genesis 'G' but could well be wrong.

Moxie and a Squatch.. Moxie in mullet mode.

High volume/low pressure pumps with an integral gauge- what have people got that they would recommend?
-
• #27159
Very nice - one/both yours, any feedback or preferences...? Mulling over some kind of dream all-round hardtail which may or may not happen

Been using an SKS Renkompressor near enough daily for nearly 15 years now, and at this point I'm fairly certain it'd survive nuclear apocalypse. Only replaced the head once. Pushes enough air to inflate tubeless tyres (fuck airshots, just pump faster), I've never not managed to seat a tyre with it
-
• #27161
Ah, I should specify (apologies) mini-pump.
-
• #27162
No idea then, soz

The topeak is ok.
I got a oneup pump now that's a lot better pump and use sks electric gauge. I think it's better this way. -
• #27164
I've not got the one with the gauge, but for guiding work I'm using a Lezyne micro floor drive. The addition of the pressure release button has so far* avoided the unscrewed valve core problem I experienced with its predecessor.
*Knock on wood.

It’s for travel with the bike where weight is a real problem- and I have to inflate the tyres from near empty. I do have a digital gauge but would prefer something all-in-one (if not shit).
Different thing- I’m going to fit my EE wings cranks when I get home and the chainring is nickel plated, which I don’t like. How would I make this (largely) matt black in a way that would not rapidly look shit?

I have the Lezyne Gauge Drive HV M. I can even seat a tubeless tyre with it. (Probably just a lucky tyre/rim combo, but still)
-
• #27167
Hang the digital pressure gauge from your keys so it doesn't count in the luggage allowance?
Only travel to places with compressors?

Moxie belongs to my 13 yr old son, Squatch is mine.
The Moxie is a small (longish) and the Squatch is large so the difference in reach makes bike swaps challenging! I'm not sure if they are really all round bikes but they suit the up/down stuff we ride (local trails with visits to the southern Scotland bike parks).Comparing them, the Moxie is much more versatile with choice of fork length (currently a 160 Yari), single speed compatible drop outs etc. The Squatch has such a low BB that the spec 130 forks can't really be lengthened and mullet doesn't seem a good idea. Geometry is similar but the Squatch has a steeper seat tube. Moxie tubes are all round where the Squatch has shaped oval and flattened tubes.
Edit to add.. Moxie was a second hand local bargain.

could you do a 26/27.5 mullet?

Retro.

modern(ish)
Doesn't really work with this either.

• #27173
Ah thanks, good to hear real life experience! They both look great

How about a DMR Bolt? Super fun little bikes that can handle a bit of everything. There's a complete bike for sale on the Bay, though frames are still available to buy new if you preferred to build one up yourself.

Where?! I am gutted that I missed out on the last frame that sold on ebay.
Yeah, the seatpost comes with enough to adjust 20mm or something I think. I've got one set in for the Stanton but I'll need a second set added (I found the extras) for the Scott.
The Scott post is too big for the Stanton so I'll need something else. 31.6 or something it is.
