Elephant Hawk moth on the path this morning. I moved somewhere safer as it was likely to get trodden on or ridden over.

Last one from Spain, a Lamenting Grasshopper (Eyprepocnemis plorans) compete with amazing striped eyes and purple hing legs.

What is that?

Looks like a Leopard Slug! 😁

In the UK?
Tiger slug.
Now very common.

Already got lots on common leopards in this country, thanks.

Loads of Hawk moth caterpillars in my garden too and my daughter is protecting any chrysalis’ she finds

After a rain shower, I found this very obliging common darter drying out yesterday. I didn't want to lug my camera around in the wet, so this is a phone pic.

I have only seen one painted lady all year. This one was among about 20 red admirals feeding on the ivy by our front gate
