What time is it? Watches and horology

There's a really nice one up on subdial that has recently been reduced to £8450 down a couple of hundred since last time I looked

Prices seem to be coming down slowly but steadily at the moment. I'm biding my time until seeing good condition white 16570's coming up more regularly with a 6 in front of the price.
I've not used Subdial yet but they've been recommended a couple of times on here recently and their prices do seem fair

I might be going to lose my shirt on the new watch given the direction of travel of the prices, but given I have no intention of selling it I suppose that’s academic.

On a watch of this value I wouldn’t touch it unless I knew and 100% trusted the seller, not worth the risk.

What's the closest thing to a Rolex date just, without being a date just?? I have seen the Seiko SNXJ89 which have that retro thin fluted bezel like a 1603, then I've seen watch mods or Etsy etc making up date just reps with the NH35 movement.. any others to consider??
