Yes, the jacket!
It was a bit suspect at first, using a jacket like this in 16 degrees. Either the jacket isnt insulated or the person wearing is also not insulated.

• #1353
Doh! Yes. Sorry.
-
• #1354
Very, very warm. Quite windproof too.

I may trade in the old Patagonia nano puff and buy this for my birthday.

I love my Insulated Zoa jacket... I wore it over the winter with a long sleeve base layer and that's all I needed... good fit, double zip and enough pockets to stuff things into... gonna save my pennies and get the rain shell this year as well... would like to see it in Rosin @Chopsicle ;)

My zoa jacket, one with the hoodie, transformed my audaxing experience this year. I did my first X rated 400 and 600 so was nervous about having no organised place to sleep. As the zoa is basically the top half of a very good sleeping bag, all I needed was a pillow, mattress and bivvy bag. The thing is the zoa packs in between these things extremely well. Slept warmer than with my full sleeping bag. Am probably going to take it to PBP with just a pillow.

Danke. Wouldn't get that in a million years. Let's see me get that right at stupid o'clock in bumfuck-nowhere-France deep into PBP...
The other option, as SpG suggested, is to attach to the other corner so one effectively has '2 handles'...
She is not happy with me...

Gonna order a lightweight zoa whilst they're on offer for winter, is the large still slightly looser cut like the normal Zoa? Or size up a bit for a loose fit?
@Chopsicle is the AP1 due back in stock at some point? Or was it more of a one off?
Thanks!

• #1360
I don't have an OG Zoa to compare but the lightweight is nicely loose. I'm 185cm/80kg and Large fits perfect.

Hi all, apologies, been on west coast of Wales for a bit, and away from screens :)
Thanks for posting info on the Burner Musette strap, we should do a better job of explaining this. Ugly as they are, perhaps a QR link in the label/swingticket...? There's two variables to dial the perfect fit; position of the loop, and the length of the loop. Once setup for your size/preference, it's super easy to switch between using it as a regular shoulder bag, to cross-body w/ stabiliser strap.
Sizing on the Lightweight Zoa is same as the heavier hooded Zoa Insulated. A bit of engineered/contour fit for riding, not out-and-out racing, but casual enough to wear civvie style.
There was a few people asking for restock of Zoa Rainjacket; You'll have to wait 'til November I'm afraid, but I'll get a more precise date asap.
And @King_Saxlingham It was a one-off project, would love to do more, but we're running at full-tilt atm. Ambition is the AP designation will be our future-craft space, where we can push new design concepts ....watch this space!

• #1362
November's good for me on the rainjackets... more time to save!!! Quick one for you @Chopsicle have you thought about winter base layers and buffs that aren't merino? And please can you do a long cycling specific sock... like a tube sock... pretty please!
-
• #1363
Any intel on the availability of the cargo vests? Page no longer loads on the albion website
-
• #1364
@alhaaa I've got October for a restock - will get a more precise date later today.
EDIT: looking good for late Oct :)@Johnnyw75 would love to roll out more products, but we're relatively tiny(!) so each product is carefully planned from every aspect (supply chain, outfit build, minimum-quantity orders, stock, etc). ....we do have some LS multi-purpose/mid-layers in work for autumn and beyond, which might do the trick.
-
• #1365
Yep, I get that you have to plan things ahead of schedule etc and the LS mid layers sound great... looking forward to getting my hands on a rain shell when they're released this winter!!
-
• #1366
Sorry, if that sounded a bit cold/calculated. It's quite refreshing to be working somewhere that's 'slow growth'. It sounds straight-forward and every business has to work this way, but full focus on product function/beauty, within the logistical/financial boundaries I outlined, really keeps things sharp.
-
• #1367
No, not at all... like you said, you're a small business and in a way, have to act that way... I think it's great that you don't have loads of products... you have more time to think about the right way to do things and what to include and vise versa... keep it up!!!
-
• #1368
Nice one, now just need to plan to some big adventures to justify the purchase ;)
-
• #1369
@Chopsicle sorry another sizing Q.
The lightweight zoa in large fits absolutely lovely on and off the bike. If I want a slightly looser cut rain shell for a more touring position (the all road one), should I aim forgot an XL?
Thanks!
P.s still loving the musette made at the Ffondo, super practical.
-
• #1370
Heya,
great to know the musettes going well ....I love that fabric & design, really want to find time to make some for the forum....
Sorry for delay, yes, will be same sizing for you, designed the shell to work over the insulation layer(s), and as a standalone waterproof. We're actually tweaking fit on the AW23 order, with a tiny bit of additional room on lower/hips, to make it more universal fit. If you need more info, I could get some flat measurements if it would be helpful to compare with existing jackets?
-
• #1371
hey @Chopsicle a very wet thought while riding home last night. Will this winter see any more colours of the over trousers? Have a green pair but always like to double up on waterproofs incase they don't dry out for the next day.
cheers!
-
• #1373
Ah ok fair. Any chance you will be doing a restock or the medium?
-
• #1374
Waterproof footwear... more details?
And when does new stuff drop
[ ~~ ] Toasty, I used it on Sunday and at 16 degrees c, put it away after about 30 mins.
I suspect as it is bigger than the 'burner' it just provides more insulation. I look forward to using it and failing to do what that instachat fella was doing in that video above.
I have a couple of burners and usually use them to around 13 degrees c.
I think this will be warmer.
(As always, depends on whether you run hot or cold - YMMV .) [ ~~ ]
Edit, ignore, I think Josh was asking about the jacket...
