  • I wouldn't be surprised if server room floor tiles are typically designed to have a diagonal length that is smaller than the distance between casters on a 19" rack, purely to avoid more than one wheel ever being on the same tile.

    (Obviously guessing as I've no idea what was in that particular server room.)

    Nope, standard size is 600mm x 600mm which is generally shorter than front/back distance between casters (>800mm), but not the distance between the pairs of casters at the front or back (~450mm). Depends on rack obviously.
