Mrs M tested positive a couple of weeks ago and had to lay low for about four days, with tiredness and shortness of breath. I tested negative but felt pretty groggy for about a week, we stayed away from our offices for two weeks.
My firm has politely requested that if staff have symptoms, work remotely.
My stock of home testing kits have diminished, also reluctant to buy anymore.
We are also seeing more elderly people wearing face masks now in our area.

Think I read something the other day suggesting it was anecdotally taking longer to test positive for one of these new strains, think it said five days from showing symptoms before people were testing positive

Yep i tested negative for ages but it felt very similar to previous covid and got a red line on day 6. Only kept testing cos I had the normal cold symptoms for 3 days, felt better then bam felt like dogshit for a few more days then a few more days of absolute lethargy

It was about three days for me, very very feint line last Sunday after about three days of feeling rubbish, then Monday bang, solid thick line no messing

Have had to travel to Dallas for a conference. Started coughing on the flight out on Monday. Today I have been asked to take a Covid test. Am now waiting to see if I have to quarantine myself in a hotel that doesn’t even have room service. Ten minutes more wait to see if the second line appears on my test.

Tested clear so allowed to return to conference floor.

Me and Mrs M have both been testing positive for a week, following contact with a family member who had it. We both have zero symptoms.

Had it a few weeks ago and have been getting headaches and ligament pain in my legs since. Good fucking times.

I've had a nasty snotty sneezy week but negative tested and no temperature or anything. The bad weather has meant hospitals are seeing effects of seasonal illnesses way early this year.

About 20% of our company out with covid at the moment... some are not too sick so working from home, others are flat out in bed. I've had a shitter of a cold but testing negative with the same company supplied tests that are giving positives to others.

It looks like the vaccination for the general public is not going to happen here, are there any EU
countries that offer vaccination for cash? -

Got back on Monday, was still unwell. Not Covid but pneumonia was the diagnosis on Tuesday. Tested again for Covid last night but still negative.

Either there is something identical to COVID that is doing the rounds, or the tests are not picking it up reliably.
I know loads of people with text book symptoms that are testing negative constantly.

Grim. When it goes after your musculoskeletal stuff it’s fuckin uncomfortable. Current variants seem fairly strong, too.

I had this mid August. Hospitalised, Blood in my poo. Lots. No issues with respiratory system.
2 jabs & booster. Assiduously wore a 3M half-face respirator mask until about 8 weeks ago.
I was totally floored for around 10 days. For every half hour of light activity (doing a crossword) I'd need an hour to an hour and a half of sleep. -

Got my first covid positive earlier this month, it didn't floor me but shivers, night sweats etc. Tested negative last Thursday but I'm still pretty full of snot and feeling like breathing isn't as free as it should be. Is that usual?
-

Yeah, it does take a little while to for everything to come back online afterwards. Plenty of bogeys for a while.

Did the old snot rocket when I was out on the roadbike the other day and thought I'd jettisoned my frontal lobe!

Well I’ve finally tested positive for the first time. 2 days in hellish flue like symptoms, it feels like my kidneys have been scooped out by spoon, muscles and joints feel like they’re gonna shatter every time I move. And the throbbing sinus headache.

My ex, who had been ruined by long COVID, managed to catch it again on one of her few trips out the house, so I'm back in while she isolates to avoid giving it to my daughter, who I took to her own long COVID appointment this morning as her mum can't do much more than stay in bed even if she wasn't isolating. I'm half convinced I got it again a couple of weeks back as I felt like ∆ that, but not as bad, didn't test positive though.

And the throbbing sinus headache.
This was awful when I had it and no painkiller would touch it.
Hope you get over it quickly

Back once again... hoping the timing now means a clear Xmas.

Balls. First time catching it for both my wife and me. She caught it on our tenth wedding anniversary last week but I was negative, so spare room & masking as much as possible but inevitable I suppose. She’s been coughing a lot and severe body pains; I have milder symptoms for now. Bah.

Apologies, I thought the 'you' was aimed at @EB
