I missed the end of the Vuelta. After all that shit, you're telling me Sepp Kuss won?
What shenanigans! Do I bother watching the replays?

Ienostar / Movios

Would a merger free up a WT license and mean a team (Israel, Lotto etc) can be promoted?
-
• #47884
No. Absolute turd of a race.
-
• #47885
Final 10 minutes were quite fun. But, yeah - it wasn't a classic.

The race you've all been waiting for; highlight of the season... Tour of Luxembourg. Might be region locked but coverage here. I'm only watching so I know when to go outside and watch it go past.

Edit - turns out it's on GCN+ but the advantage of RTL is you don't need to listen to the commentators, at least in a language you understand
-
• #47887
I've got it on GCN+ but with the French commentary to remove the risk of Carlton Kirby spouting his increasingly demented nonsense over the top of it and ruining it for everyone.

Nathan Van Hooyodonck has had to retire due to the heart problems that led to his accident last week.

Joshua Man Tree Tarling is an amazing beast. Wow
-
• #47890
He absolutely monstered that, didn't he?
-
• #47891
Kungs helmet in bits at the finish.
-
• #47892
He shouldn't have been allowed to carry on. That was insanely dangerous, not to mention concussion protocols.
-
• #47893
He fully deserved the chance to accept the gift of a GC win.
Errrr, his teammates attacked him twice and didn't get enough time on him, therefore no gift

With an average of nearly 57 km/h over about half an hour at age 19, surely the hour record beckons at some point?
-
• #47895
His average at the second check point, after 22 kms I think, was over 60 km/h. He has experience on the track, so yes, I think an hour record attempt is inevitable.
-
• #47896
Whilst it's proposed he did well over 400w for GB Nats, and he would need something in the 450w region for the hour to beat Ganna. Not sure he's quite there yet.
-
• #47897
He's there already it seems...
-
• #47898
I just saw the pics and thought that. Why the heck is he allowed to finish. He also should be dq for unsafe riding
-
• #47899
I don't think you can apportion any blame to Kung, his immediate thought is going to be to get back on his bike.
His team should've stepped in and stopped him. If he'd been riding for his trade team rather than his national team, I think they definitely would've done so but national teams are often less professionally run.

Yes I didn’t mean him, it’s got to be the team and the race referee doing it for the riders own good, like in contact sports. Also he’s effectively riding without a helmet at that point which adds another layer of needing to stop!
GCN reporting that Cavendish will ride next season and retire after the Tour.
