The million dollar question. Without being evasive pretty hard to answer as depends on other layers, type of riding and you personally.
What I like about them is;
The flexibility it gives to your wardrobe depending on what you pair it with.
They are pretty packable and light has an elastic loop in the neck to bundle it up.
Drys quickly and keeps you warm when wet.
