I have the hope v20 pedals, my wife now uses them. Between us they have done thousands of miles and still silky smooth. Good grip as well, I don’t know why I’d look elsewhere.

Serious answer - they have nice support and grip without destroying shoes. Modern mtb pedals are wonderful but they do not take kindly to a crepe sole.

Because they are really quite long front to back, so there's a nice level of support under a lot of your foot, not just a big square in the middle of your shoe - IMO.
