My little one uses the 2020 and 2021 kits as toys to click together and play with and walk around the house to "fix" things by tapping on them. Even removing the pieces from the velcro closure case and replacing them is helping their motor skills. The tools have numbers on them for sizing and colours for identification so they're being tricked into learning without even realising it.
This year's one looks a vast improvement on last year's. I was disappointed that the 2022 tools were loose without a pouch. I'm happy to buy them every year even with overlap and repeat elements 'cause it just means I can have a set in a different bag for a different bike... one under the stairs, one in the kitchen etc... The fun of opening them through December is part iof it though anyway right?
Anyone tried this as a method of bike maintenance induction for their kid?
