Gumtree/eBay if function well or if older and questionable for real use I take them back to Apple shops in the hope they get more responsibly recycled.

Generally I leave them in a box in a cupboard until they progress to a box in the loft. Arguably not a perfect solution.
I did try to ebay an old iphone but that just ended with me losing money so back to the box it went.

Could put it on ebay as a job lot and for a tenner or two depending on the models. Plenty of people looking for spares and e-waste recycling is not very efficient / really “recycling” in most circumstances.

I donate them to charity - there are a number that use them for people who would otherwise not have access to phones or through selling them

Other than recycling via electronics recyclers, what do people do with old devices, particularly iphones? Found a box in a cupboard with half a dozen old ones that seem functional so a shame to scrap them.
