I heard a tearing or crunching sound as i was warming up with a sharp pain and now flexing is rather painful.
Sounds like you've been wearing watches that are too big/heavy.

Great. I got lucky on Wednesday when I got hit by a car while cycling. Completely random situation, “I didn’t see you” kind of thing. Bike is fuc*ed, I have some fractures in my foot, but apart from that, nothing really, which is quite amazing. I damaged 2 cars in the process 💪

The FXD, when it first came out, was supposedly designed to the MN’s specs, which included a fully minute-marked bidirectional bezel. They didn’t want unidirectional. So all the FXDs up to this point have been bidirectional (and therefore not an ISO-compliant divers watch).
Seems this one is meant to comply with US army specs, hence unidirectional.

Did someone say G-Shock? A just finished vintage DW 5200 (240 module), showing its scars proudly

Disappointing to read. Although some conflicting information over on watchuseek. I think I might just get a life and order one: https://www.watchuseek.com/threads/powermatic-80-nylon-components-and-shorter-service-interval.5103061/

According to an ex watchmaker at Swatch Group, not only is the movement assembled by robots in China, along with most of the watch (until its final 'assembly' in Switzerland), the movement itself is not serviced by Swatch, they just bin it and throw in a new one if anything goes wrong with it.
Edit: just read the watchuseek thing that agreed they're designed to be disposable. And as always - absolutely nothing wrong with Chinese manufacturing, but saying made in switzerland is a bit cheeky isn't it.

The problem is obvs that your new Santos is too light and has already detrained you. Always dangerous to wear anything which isn’t a wall clock on your wrist :)
Sucks man, heal up soon big guy

Gah, didn’t see this! I have come to the opposite conclusion.

Holy moly, this is a page of woe - heal up soon as well! Did you try to sell any of the drivers a watch?

Clearly something rad was in the air today - had a g Shock day as well.

Ah. Still. Not sure why that is a surprise then.
From a safety standpoint, as a recreational diver you only want the unidirectional bezel if you are relying on your watch to track time. Not sure what advantage you get out of bi-directional for military use.

OUCH! Sorry to hear this dude! Hope you heal up quick!

Damn light watches! But once back from the hospital, it went straight back on 😁
No stress. I don't think it's anything, but I'd rather make sure cause the alternative has serious long term consequences.

Yes, as I was flying in front of their windscreen, I flashed an Omega or two.

I believe the bidirectional functionality was to make it easier to time and reset navigational waypoints while underwater. That’s also why the original FXD has a countdown bezel.
I fully understand the purpose of a unidirectional count-up bezel on a divers watch, I just didn’t understand why they had changed to that more conventional design on this new version, when that was part of the FXD’s raison d’etre. But then I read the marketing guff about US military spec divers watches and it makes sense.

Ah OK. I don't do any cave or wreck diving so maybe there is a use case for it that I am not familiar with.
Must be useful for the MN when dealing with Greenpeace.

Seiko will do the same, even with 4R/6R movements.

Oh yeah, no doubt, just feel like people (not anyone here) have put the Powermatic 80 and PRX on a pedestal because it says Swiss Made on it when its kinda...... not.
Cheers guys
