  • Bit of a crappy picture but I saw this and think it's really cool

  • It’s basically the same as the 6R but without the anti-magnetic hairspring (Spron I think). Accuracy is pot luck I’m afraid. I have some that are within a few seconds a day. But you will always have a chance of getting one that runs +30. FWIW, I’ve never had one that runs worse than about 8 seconds out. But I think I’ve been lucky.

You kind of have to accept it as part of the watch. Or if it turns up running terribly, sell it / send it back.

  • Can anyone recommend a good dealer?

I'm in the market for an IWC mark XV, one of the early ones with the beads of rice bracelet.

  • Also doesn’t like being left in certain orientations. When you wear it it’s mostly good. When you take it off for a day it goes to shit in my experience.

  • I may have one coming in , but not on the bracelet.

  • Thanks all. I’m out, not dealing with the hassle for a Seiko.

  • Anyone after a nice preowned datejust 2 ?

  • Nice. Am keen on the bracelet. Makes the watch in my opinion.

  • wow! looking awesome!

  • Tudor cooking up something on 14th September. Hoping it's not just another professional endorsement adaptation, probably is.

  • Bring back the North Flag.

It'll probably be the new version of the heritage chronos, won't it? I think they've done one for Only Watch that everyone was assuming is going to be the basis for a new line.

  • Almost certainly this.

  • North flag would be good.

Would make sense to be the chronos but I really like the vintage ones, minus the 'Tiger' editions. The Big Block is so good and the oyster prince without the steel bezel. The one they released for Only Watch looks like a dehydrated Nixon. I mean they fucked up the Ranger and that could of been great. We shall see.
At least if they're thinner, which I'm guess they would be, that's a start.

  • At least if they're thinner, which I'm guess they would be, that's a start.

    I wouldn't bet on it…

  • 38mm thin north flag would be nice.

I’m close on 35mm auto prx. It’s between the two blues.

  • Letting a watch go so thought I would see if there was any interest here first

    1965 Smiths Astral 17

Recently fully overhauled by Merrens (smithswatches.com) and comes with photo booklet of dial and movement (17 jewel 60464E)

There is also around 18months left of the two year guarantee

Comes with a leather strap and the metal strap pictured

    Looking for £350

  • New watch day! I've resisted the lure of the PRX for a while now but I couldn't do it any longer - needed something I could wear to the office and to a funeral without attracting too much attention or looking too juvenile and it really fits the bill.

Forgive the tiny pic - the dial only really looks accurate on my macro camera. (I'm sure that's one of the reasons it looks so huge on some wrists in the pics online!)

  • Welcome to the club!

  • Nice. Is that the 40mm?

  • Thank you both! And yes, the 40mm. Maybe I'm like @ChainBreaker in the liking huge watch stakes but it looks quite reasonably sized to my eyes

  • I'm liking the look of this JDM GS SBGX295. Same 37mm case/ dial layout as many of the other Heritage quartz models, but with very different polishing on the hands and indices. Dial colour looks good too , but hard to tell quite what it'd look like IRL .

Do people think it could be dressed down a little with a different strap?

  • Saddle soap? Or leather cream?

Missed this at the time. I do have some saddle soap I could try on the strap but not sure if this will just end up all over my wrist when I wear it.

On a separate note, any suggestions on good places to buy buckles?

  • Pelagos day today
None of that 39mm malarkey here.

  • SBGX295

Slightly odd to see a GS that doesn't have razor sharp hands at the points. Didn't know there were any that didn't, in fact. I guess it's an entry level JDM model? Still looks nice though, I like the dial texture.

Oh, from googling it seems it has darkened hands and markers, like a grey tone. Maybe that explains the textured tops of the hands and indices, normally that's something they only really do on black/dark dials. Interesting. I think it would make a great daily, as long as you're not too terrified of scratching the case.
