Had the same reaction re dogo, then I googled the breed. Most humans wouldn’t win against a fully grown one.

There's an interesting question over whether you can separate out the two. A key point, most of these dipshits miss is whether the owners have the strength to control their dog. As Dibble's horrific story shows - even a really motivated individual can struggle to control a strong dog on a mission.
All that said. I think there is a slight arbitrariness to which dogs are prohibited. You also have some dogs which have been bread to be more docile than they would have been. German Shepherds as an e.g. - I'm sure I recall reading that the dogs you'd have had say in the 50s would have been more aggressive than one purchased today. Guard dogs I assume would be more inclined to attack humans, whereas fighting dogs were bread to kill other dogs and similar sized prey and be subservient to humans.

I read loads of comments on insta from people saying “it’s the owners, not the breed” but it’s called the Bully XL, FFS, not the cuddly love dog. Defo bread to be as threatening and big as possible.
Also discovered the 4 breeds banned in the UK includes one called the “Doggo Argentino” which did make me lol.
