Bodge, carbon and everything inbetween

Just keeping track of the various good and bad bikes I own...

To start the thread off on an interesting note, the 650B(odge):

• an old Bridgestone frame converted to 650B
  
• fork from a random old KTM road frame
  
• front canti bosses silver-brazed with a MAPP torch
  
• rear bosses badly TIG welded
  
• two front chainrings, no derailleur (the small one is for emergencies)
  
• old SRAM rival 10 brifters paired to some MTB derailleur
  
• Panaracer Gravelking Slicks in 42mm
  
• steerer extended to threadless, this Cane Creek headset is probably the only "nice" component on this bike
  
• 40 in the front (and a small 36 ring), 11-36 casette in the back

Project no. 2: the commuter/road fixed thingy

• fixed 46/17
  
• nice Reynolds 531 frame with some random GT fork, steerer extended to threadless
  
• random cheap Shimano dynamo hub
  
• random vbrake, not used much since it's a fixie
  
• inner tube as bar tape (not good)
  
• bodged on some SKS longboards with a dremel and some clamps
  
  

To do:

• wire up the rear light to the dynamo
  
• maybe change the saddle
  
• some real bar tape

I never thought I'd see the same Puch frame that I have, but here we go (albeit mine's a 54, I guess yours is 56-58-ish). Lovely bikes you have here!

Maybe it's the photo angle, but that fork on the Puch looks to have had a front impact I am afraid..

Not ideal from a safety POV but it does make the geometry more track-like ;) definitely a v cool rat, the 650bodge is great as well.

Yup they're definitely a bit bent. I'm keeping an eye on the fork for any cracks but I have nothing to replace it with at the moment so it's just staying like that for a while...

The most recent project: 1996 Scott Boulder

Frame seems reasonably light and in ok-ish condition. It had a bunch of fairly random parts on it, a mix of LX and STX, sadly with gripshifts (not a fan).

Started acquiring some nice bits for it, plan is to build an autumn/winter atb type thing.

Basically finished, just missing some mudflaps and some nicer grips.

Very laid back and quite comfy, looking forward to some slow rides on this one. The upright position might not be the most practical as there's a lot of headwind where I live but that might be fixed in the future with a drop bar (or maybe a riser as an in-between option)...

Which SKS‘s did you use on the SCOTT?
