Sorry, to be clear, what tubes (model numbers or sizes) do people recommend? Only tube I could find quickly was a 16” Halfords own brand, it was for a 305mm rim so nearly impossible to get the tyre on without pinching it. The LBS had “Brompton size” tubes in and, while I’m happy to buy local, £10 a tube is pretty steep

@pedro82 Better price and reasonable postage if you are in the uk https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/inner-tubes/schwalbe-av4-schrader-tube-400a1618-tyres-37340-28349-to-37349-28355-to-35355/
This is even cheaper but I haven’t tried them so worth double checking the measurements:

Pretty much all the same. Old tech, hundreds of makers. Conti if you like splurging, CST/Decathlon/Halfrauds are usually cheap and cheerful, Schwalbe are good but avoid the ultralight ones unless you like wasting money and time.
New TPU ones are good as an emergency spare (25g vs 110g) but lose air quicker.
Also, top tip, buy a spare to keep inside the frame. More than once I’ve heard a Brompton owner complain they tried to get a puncture repaired and the local shops didn’t have 16” tubes.
