They might have done it back to front, but their reasoning for claiming it being the first divers watch with a rotating bezel was that it must have come out the year before the patent because that’s how everyone did it. Which, apparently, isn’t true. And they have no other evidence.

However, just because Rolex filed their patient then released, doesn't necessarily mean that Blancpain couldn't have done it back-to-front.
The lack of docs and those pics from the release stand are pretty persuasive.
