• But of a weird sale situation but I’ll try anyway. This bike has been sat in the family attic for the last two years, apart from a few rides when I’ve sporadically returned to the UK. I had thought to bring it over to the continent at some point in the future but this is been expedited by my parents selling up and downsizing. I will be in the UK next week for 2 weeks only and my choice is either to get this sold or take my chances with bringing it back on the Eurostar. I will be primarily in York but also departing from London so collection might be possible.

So the bike: it’s a 2017 Boardman CXR 9.2 carbon frame and forks in a size Small (although I do want to measure it up to confirm this). It’s nice to ride and is pretty versatile as it had mudguards mounts and decent-ish tyre clearance (38mm maybe 40mm). I bought it as a frame and forks and immediately gave it a rattle can paint job in a kind of light ‘Audi’ gray colour. I did a fairly good job of it, with several coats of primer, main colour and clearcoat but then I foolishly shoved it in a bike bag to travel to Hungary without waiting a week and the paint got a bit wrinkled in places.

In terms of parts there are some nice-ish bits and some fairly basic stuff:

    • SRAM rival 1x11 hydro groupset
    • Shimano pro discover flared bars 40cm
    • Wheels MFG PF30 thread-together bottom bracket (eliminates creaks nicely)
    • SRAM Force 1 carbon chainset (30mm axle and 170mm length I believe)
    • New chain
    • SRAM 11-42 cassette, probably the ropiest bit as it has some surface rust that needs scrubbing off but otherwise doesn’t have a lot of miles on it.
    • Pinnacle Adventure road disc wheelset, can’t find much info on these online anymore but they are solid entry level wheels, 6 bolt disc mounting and include the end caps for conversion between axle standards. Have an old pair of Schwalbe G-ones in 38mm on them.
    • Boardman own brand carbon seatpost.
    • Generic fabric scoop clone saddle.
    • I have a couple of different length stems I can throw on but I think the current one is 100mm

Axles are 15x100 TA front and 12x142 TA rear. Brakes are post mount and BB is pressfit 30. I say had mudguard mounts above because they were just riv-nuts and a couple of them feel out but could probably be replaced.

Unfortunately I don’t have any pictures of it with the current parts only the previous build.

I think £450 would be a fair price but happy to hear offers. Any questions feel free to ask away.

  • Small update it occurred to me this morning that the rear derailleur is actualy Force 1 not Rival and I also have some basic Shimano SPD's to include as well.

  • This looks like it would suit my 16 year old. Can you confirm the frame size? I am in London

  • Yeh can do, I’ll measure it up when I’m back in the uk but that won’t be till next Monday I’m afraid. Just to be clear the time window to pick up in London will be pretty tight as I’ll just be passing through and changing trains. Although I guess I could source a cardboard box and try and post in the UK.

  • Great deal but it looks like 10 speed brifters and cable braking ?

  • Yeh I basically never take pictures of my bikes so these are 3 years old. But to confirm it 100% has a Rival/Force 1x11 hydraulic groupset. New pictures will be available when I get back to the UK next Monday.

  • Nvm

  • What's the nubbin on the back of the seat tube for? (race number holder??)

  • I'd be happy to dibs this. But don't want to skip the queue if @StokeyJuC has already bagged it.

  • Cable stop for mechanical front derailleur although it also has a hole in the seat tube for Di2 FD cable.

  • Ooh I always forget top pull FD is normal for CX!

  • I am still keen to buy your bike as long as the sizing is about right. Which day are you passing through London?

  • Not sure why my above message didn’t show my username

  • Cool, I’ve sent you a message.

  • Hi, my son is keen on this if there’s any chance it’s still available after the other dibs. We’re in Newcastle so could pick up from York. I’ll message you just in case!

  • Hi there is this still available?(am based in London)

  • Bike looks good and great job on the paint - what make of rattle can was it?

  • Just an update bike is currently reserved for @StokeyJuC but if changes his mind between now and the 23rd of September then it will still be up for grabs. Here are some updated pics with the new groupset and cranks:
